Heather completed her Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture training at Pacific Rim College in 2012 and has been practicing in Victoria ever since. For over 7 years she was honing her ability to support overall health and musculoskeletal injury recovery in a thriving practice at Synergy Health Management, successfully treating a range of ailments from muscle sprain/strain, chronic pain, MVA recovery, insomnia, migraines and headaches, digestive health and hormonal regulation. It's not just about a lack of pain, but a strong return to function. TCM and acupuncture are uniquely positioned to support holistic inclusivity for all aspects of self within the definition of health and vitality due to bridging the energetic, physical and spiritual elements of healing.
Moving into the complexities of physical, mental and emotional needs has been a focus for Heather as she deepened her exploration of chronic pain and what supports a complete recovery from trauma or life altering events. Engaging with how mental health impacts our overall wellbeing has been an area of study and examination that she has cultivated over time in order to better support and address the needs of her clients. This led to the completion of a 2 year certification program and Heather is now a licensed Dynamic Emotional Integration Trainer and Consultant; increasing emotional integration within herself has eliminated all doubt regarding the necessity of the inclusion of this element within her practice. Heather uses various TCM modalities in addition to acupuncture to restore range of motion, decrease pain, increase functional ability and healing in times of injury. Cupping, gua sha, electrical stimulation and herbal liniments are utilized along with breathing techniques and other exercises for restoring overall health and function over a course of treatments.
Other professional development courses through the years have ranged from Inherited Family Trauma work with Mark Wolynn, scalp acupuncture, the NADA addiction protocol and advanced orthopaedic acupuncture.
Getting clients back to lives full of vitality and capacity, whatever that looks like to each individual, is at the core of Heather's approach to her practice.
Healing is a journey not taken alone. When we meet in treatments I bring my skills, experience and capacity to hold space for your own inner design of health and healing to reengage within you.
Addressing one aspect of health in no way can be separated from the whole. I use a bio-social psycho-spiritual approach to deeply listen to where you are on your journey and how I can support you in reaching your goals.
Being able to support others during times of injury and illness is a responsibility and role that I step into with great humility and compassion. Asking for help takes great courage, and I celebrate the step of self-support taken by every client.
